An individual holding the Sun Certified MySQL Database Administrator (SCMDBA) certification has extensive and broad competentences in his or her field of expertise. The SCMDBA certification is targeted at candidates who will take the administrative role of tuning, planning, and optimizing data layout for one or many servers, but do not write many applications.
